This edition of Herbal Antibiotics is much improved over the earlier version. It has so much more information and would make a great addition to your herbal reference library. Great job, Stephen!

My daughter had MRSA, went thru antibiotic routine, it spreads (colonized) Went to UIC, no help. Tried the herbs recommended & it is clearing up. Have pics to document. Shared with pediatrician and she was intrigued & saw the proof!

Great book!!!I have an antibiotics resistent infection called non turburculosis mycobacteria it's similar to TB but not contageous. It requires a year or more of antibiotics three at a time and then that doesn't usually cure you because it usually comes back.Well within a few of days of what Stephen Buhner recommends for this bacteria I felt my lungs open significantly up and increased energy. I was so impressed to feel that much better this quick.The herb I'm using is Cryptolepis.Thank God I found this book!Uodate:I have been on the herbs recommended in the book for over a year now and scence starting them I have tested negative for mycbacteria. This is after tested positive for it for a year prior to taking the herbs.I did not take any of the three antibiotics recommended by the Dr!!!

buy this and the antiviral book, you can't go wrong. The herbs in the books can be found at Elk Mountain Herbs and Sage Woman. I originally found out about Stephen Buhner when I contracted Lyme disease. After antibiotics did nothing much to help, I turned to homeopathic remedies and I wanted something else, that would work faster. So, my homeopathic practitioner told me to get Healing Lyme by Stephen Buhner. Within a few days after receiving the book I read it and bought the herbs and started the herbs along with the GAPS diet and felt so much better just a few days in (even while I was herxing) I stayed on the protocol for a year and felt really good. I ended up just doing GAPS intro and easing into Paleo. Then Paleo AIP, Low FODMAPS. After I came off the lyme protocol, I had some dental work done and I started showing signs for Bartonella. So I bought the Healing Co -infections book from Stephen and that was amazing. I stayed on that for a year. Now I take herbs for maintenance. I am not sure I will ever not be on some herbs, but I am ok with that, because I feel so good. I went from wanting to sleep all day, crawling up the stairs in my house, being too anxiety ridden to drive( and I have always loved to drive) to now being able to what ever I want to do, and that is pretty good! I love herbs!!!

This book and his other book, (Herbal Antivirals) are looking like they will be the most useful books I have ever read! I have never seen anything like these two books. I get frequent colds and then almost always get secondary infections a few days later. In the last two weeks I have felt a sore throat starting twice, and did what his books recommend, using the astragalus/garlic broth, the ginger juice, and the elderberry syrup. The sore throats went away in less than 48 hours each time. Much less expensive than going to the doctor, but more important is the feeling of being empowered - I can take care of this myself, and do it better than the "professionals". Just being able to treat my frequent colds would make these two books worth the money, but he talks about where to get these herbs, immune system support, and how to treat many other diseases and ailments, not just cold/flu.I seldom write glowing reviews, but these two books are far far above anything else I have ever seen.I hope for the sake of people all over the world that these two books become bestsellers.

This is a great book...probably one of the best on the subject. Covers plants that I have never heard of and that comes from someone with an interest in herbs for almost 30 yrs. It also covers everything that is needed to understand the plant, including various Latin and common names, methods of use, where/when/how it is effective, and how it is used across the world. It is also written in a way where you can quickly pull together everything you need for your particular ailment in just a few minutes. What I particularly liked though was both the author's directness, as well as his twisted sense of humor. Reminded me a lot of the old "Far Side" cartoons written by Gary Larson. This humor may not be for everyone, but folks who have ever worked in a research environment will usually recognize this as a good thing, as the most groundbreaking researchers often have such a warped mind...

With the end of the antibiotic age upon us and the prevalence of antibiotic resistant bacteria, we need other resources. Plant-based anti-bacterial and anti-fungal treatments have wise alternative mechanisms to reducing the bad effects of bacteria. Unfortunately, these processes (such as interfering with the formation of a bio-film) cannot be patented, so you'll never see Big Pharma investing in research or marketing these alternatives. In fact, many major drug companies have shut down their antibiotic research. It only makes sense to arm yourself with this knowledge, since the medical community is running out of options. About the Author
Marc Landy is Professor of Political Science at Boston College and the winner of the 2009 Boston College Phi Beta Kappa Teaching Award, Phi Beta Kappa Omicron of Massachusetts. He graduated with a BA, Magna Cum Laude, from Oberlin College and has a PhD in Government from Harvard University. He teaches courses on American political development, the American presidency and American federalism, and he is the former chair of the Political Science Department at Boston College. He also serves as Faculty Chair of the Boston College Irish Institute, coordinating the academic component of its executive programs on various topics in American government, most of which are sponsored by the US State Department. He and Sidney M. Milkis co-wrote Presidential Greatness (2000 ). He is also the author of The Environmental Protection Agency from Nixon to Clinton: Asking the Wrong Questions (1994) and the editor of Creating Competitive Markets: The Politics of Regulatory Reform (2007) and Seeking the Center: Politics and Policymaking at the New Century (2001).

Sidney M. Milkis is the White Burkett Miller Professor in the Department of Politics and Director for Studies in Democracy and Governance at the Miller School of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia. His books include The President and the Parties: The Transformation of the American Party System since the New Deal (1993); The Politics of Regulatory Change (1996), with Richard Harris; Political Parties and Constitutional Government: Remaking American Democracy (1999); Presidential Greatness (2000), with Marc Landy; The American Presidency: Origins and Development, 1776-2011, 6th edition (2011), with Michael Nelson; and, most recently, Theodore Roosevelt, the Progressive Party, and the Transformation of American Democracy (2009). He is the coeditor, with Jerome Mileur, of three volumes on twentieth-century political reform: Progressivism and the New Democracy (1999); The New Deal and the Triumph of Liberalism (2002); and The Great Society and the High Tide of Liberalism (2005). His articles have been published in Perspectives on Politics, Political Science Quarterly, The Journal of Policy History, Studies in American Political Development, and numerous edited volumes.

About the Author

Bonnie L. Yegidis, Ph. D., MSW     Bonnie Yegidis is Professor and Director of the School of Social Work at the University of South Florida, Tampa.  She teaches in the research methods and social work practice sequences in the School, and has conducted research on family violence,  cross-cultural issues in social work practice, and evidence based social work practice.  Dr. Yegidis earned her MSW degree from West Virginia University and her Ph. D. in Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in Measurement and Evaluation, from the University of South Florida.  She is the recipient of a number of awards and honors including Social Worker of the Year from the Georgia Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, and the Distinguished Alum Award from West Virginia University. 

Robert  W. Weinbach, Ph.D., MSW.     Bob Weinbach is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of South Carolina, where he continues to teach graduate level research courses in the College of Social Work. He is also the first author of Statistics for Social Workers, Eighth Edition; The Social Worker as Manager, Sixth Edition;  and is the author of Evaluating Social Work Services and Programs (all published by Allyn & Bacon), as well as over 75 other  publications and invited book chapters. He earned graduate degrees in social work from SUNY-Buffalo and Ohio State University and has worked in both medical and psychiatric social work practice and as a program evaluator.

 

Laura L. Myers, Ph.D., M.S.W.     Laura Myers is an Associate Professor and BSW Program Director at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, FL.  Laura received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy and completed her coursework and Master’s thesis in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Southern Mississippi.  After several years of computer consulting for accounting firms, she returned to school to complete her M.S.W. and Ph.D. in Social Work at the University of Georgia.  Laura lives in Tallahassee with her husband, Dr. Bruce Thyer, and their four children, John, William, Joseph, and Cynthia.   Laura is interested in research, scholarly writing, human diversity and social discrimination, eating disorders, and social work and spirituality.
