English novelist and playwright Wilkie Collins was a prolific writer with a body of work comprising thirty novels, over sixty short stories, more than a dozen plays, and a wide range of non-fiction pieces. Collins is best known for his novels The Woman in White, an early sensation novela genre combining shocking gothic horror with everyday domestic settingsand The Moonstone, which is credited as one of the first modern mystery novels. In the 1850s Collins met Charles Dickens and the two struck up a friendship, which lead to Collins becoming a frequent contributor to Dickens s journals Household Words and All the Year Round. Many of his stories have been adapted for film, including Basil, A Terribly Strange Bed, The Moonstone and The Woman in White. Collins died in 1889 at the age of 65.

Bought it used and it was in great shape when it arrived. I think I saved $6Well worth it. I just wish I could play 1/10 of a % like Pagey himself.So I practice practice practice. The book is well written and since we grew up with the songs it helps a lot.Some of it is way over my head. There are 5-6 songs that are fairly reasonable to understand

For years I spent my money buying cowboy chord "made easy for guitar" fake books and never learned anything that didn't sound like campfire music. With the advent of tablature and Hal Leonard books you can now learn an accurately played version of songs by your favorite artists. Granted they are more dollars and cents but are well worth learning the version you really want to be playing. Now, if they would just print these in a format that the book could be opened up and laid flat without breaking the binding life would be perfect.

Do not purchase the Kindle edition. It can not be zoomed in correctly on any device and will frustrate beyond measure.

Good gift for a zeppelin fan learning to play guitar

The transcriptions in this book are very accurate, and in some parts even goes in depth into explain somethings, like pointing out notes that are really tape echo, and explaining why the G changes from beat one in the first two verses to beat two in the third verse onward in Dazed and Confused.It's also very complete, including all of the guitar parts, and in some places transcribing other instruments for guitar.However, there are some glaring errors in this book. There are places where the tablature does not match the notes that are written above. I've noticed this in several places throughout the book, and usually the notation is correct. So, if you only read tab, you might run into some problems in some spots. Either way, watch out for the mistakes.Overall, I don't think you'll be disappointed. But, they could have spent a little more time proofreading before going to press.

Has many details about the original performance of each song. Very useful for any player who wants to learn the intricacies of these songs. Thank you.

Extremely detailed guitar tablature for the Led Zepplin Best of Album. Lots of tricky guitar licks to work through and many classics that are very fun to play. I'm very glad I purchased this it will keep me occupied for a long while :)

I bought this for my boyfriend's birthday. He is a pretty good guitarist who plays by ear and by sheet. Not a professional, plays for fun and a huge Led Zeppelin fan. I've bought him other guitar books before and this is honestly the only one he plays around with. That in itself sold it for me on this review.

I fell in love with Garden in the East after hearing Angela read an excerpt at a writer's conference. I bought the book as soon as it came out, but I'm now reviewing it for one reason: This is the kind of book I like to savor. There are certain books that mend the soul and soothe over the damage of self-criticism and the hostilities of the world: Jane Austen novels, Rilke's poetry, and this book by Angela Doll Carlson. I keep it on my Kindle at the top of the queue, returning again and again to re-read passages.Angela's background as a personal trainer is evident in her deep awareness of the body. She uses her formidable skills as a poet to weave an engaging prose vision of the body's graces: organic, dynamic, sacred.This book brought me peace with my body and helped me understand the rich beauty of being created. I highly recommend it for anyone who struggles with their place in the world or who wants to grow deeper into a sense of their sacred selves.

It wasn't as described. It was a lot of fluff and the same things over and over again. There wasn't much meat to it or helpfulness. I bought it for my sister but I read it first. I was really hoping it would be better.

Poetic and thought-provoking, this is an exploration of growth: physical & spiritual through the metaphor of garden cultivation. Cultivation because it's purposeful. A beautiful book that can be enjoyed by anyone, whether you are Orthodox or not. I look forward to leading our Women's Book club discussion on this in a few weeks!

Using the metaphor of our body as a garden, Carlson writes about the importance—and the joy—of tending that garden. Of loving it. These words remind me of how I feel when I remember that I could be dead or paralyzed after my wreck in 2013, which left me with pretty continuous aches and pains (broken neck, leg, and ankle, all full of permanent hardware):“In my best moments, I am grateful to be walking around, upright and active. In those moments, I am not noticing the forward jut of my head, misaligned form age and bad postural habits built up over time. I am not worried about the creaking of my knees or my elbows. In my best moments, I am thinking about deep issues like world peace and schoolyard bullies and what’s for dinner.”Oh how I love those moments when I am not obsessing over my body! For me, those “best moments” usually involve writing, editing, reading, or watching an excellent movie or television drama. Sometimes they involve music. Or taking in the beauty of a spectacular sunset, at the Mississippi River (three blocks from my house) or a beach on the Gulf of Mexico. I can easily pour out my love and appreciation for these things and places that bring me joy. So why can’t I express that same love for my body, my garden I’ve been given to tend? Carlson says:“This body is a garden and it is mine. I am responsible for its care. I am responsible for the words I use when I describe it, even to myself, even when I’m alone.”Carlson continues the garden metaphor, even laying out for us parallels involving loving and caring for both, which includes the way we speak to our garden. I’ve never been much into growing things, and I’ve certainly never spoken to my plants. But I used to talk to my cat all the time. And the tone in my voice told her she was loved, just as the tone in our voices sends a positive message to our children, our spouses, our friends. So how should we speak to our bodies? Carlson says we should tell our body that we love it. That it is good and strong and beautiful—an amazing mystery created by God and given to us to cradle our spirits and allow our souls to grow and be happy and at peace.Maybe if I learn to talk to my body, I’ll eventually learn to love it. Or at least not to hate it.

Since reaching my 40s, I've really started to experience a love-hate relationship with my body. Carlson's writing–honest, humorous, and seasoned with middle-aged grace–draws us toward loving our bodies, literally "warts and all"! Rather than share an extreme agenda for health, diet, or exercise, Carlson, through the metaphor of gardening, exhorts us to seek balance in caring for the temple of the Spirit. By incorporating the words of scripture, saints, and faithful poets, she reminds us that we are, indeed, beautifully and wonderfully made.

This is a good introductory read for any Orthodox Christian who needs a reminder that our bodies are US, not an object outside of our lives. We are mind, body, spirit. This is great for anyone whose been stuck in Western concepts of the body for a while and needs a refresh in valuing their whole self. Easy to read.
